Services and Events to which you would be most welcome.

We seek to share God's love with our community by belonging to and supporting village organisations as they help and support us. We help to plan and celebrate special occasions such as weddings and baptisms, and help support people through bereavements. We craft services for special events making Harvest and Carol Services and children's worship more community based, so that all feel welcome. Music is important and The Villages Choir enhances our worship.

There are two services held here a month and, because of its size,  it can take its turn in the larger Group services at Christmas and through the year, seating up to 140 people.  Although our regular congregation is only between 10 and 20 people, the church is well supported by the local villagers at the many functions held to keep the church open and in good order.

Stoke Prior and Ford is a very friendly community and very supportive of one another.  There are many social functions held in the village to raise money for various activities and they are always well attended.  The Ford Flower Festival is held in June at St John's, Ford, the Hog Roast in August at St Luke's, Stoke Prior, and the single Harvest Festival for both churches is held in Stoke Prior Village Hall which beings in many people who are not regular communicants and it is great to see them participating in our prayers. The PCC donates 10% of its entire annual income to charities- local, national and world wide.

We seek to keep the graves and land around the church in good order without taking away the homes of small mammals, birds, insects, reptiles and other of God's creatures.  God's acre helped us a lot in providing funds to set up an eco-friendly environment and to provide a box for visiting children so that they can see what can be found abour the church.  The grass at the back of the church has been seeded with meadow flowers as have the banks beside the approach drive.  The church has been fitted with Halogen heaters and low wattage bulbs to help the environment.

St Luke's, Stoke Prior, is a Victorian church, Grade 2* listed, which replaced an earlier Norman edifice demolished in the early 1860s.  The church is almost certainly unique in having a superb Commonwealth (1658) roof which was saved and adapted from the earlier church.  A new bell was given in memory of Victoria Marsden in 2012 and the belfry reordered to hold a ring of 6 bells.
